RAYMOND JAMES SMOLINSKI

He was born August 4, 1944 in Posen to Bernard and Angeline (Krajniak) Smolinski.

Ray graduated from Posen High School in 1962. He married Carol Zielaskowski on Sept. 5, 1964 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. He retired as a shovel operator from Michigan Limestone Operations in 2006 after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Carol, two sons, Raymond Jr. (Jodi) Smolinski of Grove City, Ohio and Gary (Connie) Smolinski of Brighton; seven grandchildren, Whitney (Jason) Martin, Lili Smolinski, Landon Smolinski, Logan Smolinski, Lana Smolinski, Lydia Smolinski and Lila Smolinski; he is also survived by two sisters, Janet Zolnierek of Alpena and Barbara Socia of Fraser and a brother, Robert (Merilyn) Smolinski of Overgaard, Arizona.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Angeline.

A memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home.
