DELL LYNN AIKENS

Dell Lynn McDonnell was born in Alpena on February 11, 1939 to the late Elmer and Lucille (Goulette) McDonnell. She married David Aikens on September 6, 1958. She worked at the K-Mart pharmacy until her retirement. She is a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren. With her kindness and compassion to all, she will be affectionately remembered as “mom” to countless people.

Surviving are her husband David, six children, Mary Burns, Denise (Denny) Grulke, Karen (Dale) Haugen, Brian (Christine) Aikens, Julie (Charles) Ferguson-Powers, Gordon (JoAnn) Aikens, daughter-in-law, Melanie Aikens, 24 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, two sisters, Patricia Curtis, Jane Allen, brother-in-law, Charles Hobson, several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Aikens was preceded in death by son, Paul Aikens, sister, Jacqueline Hobson.

Visitation will take place on Thursday at the Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
