JOYCE ANN MILROY

Joyce Ann Milroy departed this earth on April 19, 2021, at the age of 93 years. Joyce was born April 10, 1928, in Kalamazoo, to the late Richard and Lucille Petersen. She married John R. Milroy on Sept. 12, 1953, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Kalamazoo. He survives her. John and Joyce made their home in Kalamazoo and after a brief move to Iowa, lived for more than 40 years in Alpena. Joyce was a graduate of Western Michigan University, working for the Upjohn Company before becoming a stay-at-home mother. She delighted in finding whimsical gifts, sharing stories from her happy childhood, attending University of Michigan football games, spending time with family, and discovering joy in everyday things. Joyce is survived by her children, Jan Milroy, Des Moines, Iowa, Michael (Kathy Clark), Grand Rapids, Timothy (Vicki), Battle Creek, and James (Lori), Saginaw. In addition, Joyce is survived by six grandchildren, Casey Milroy (Michael Beaudoin), Brianne Milroy (Nate Siudak), Andrew Milroy, Izzy Milroy, Erin Farnsel (Curtis), and Ellen Frost (Jack) as well as three great-grandchildren, Kenley Beaudoin, Margot Farnsel and Jay Farnsel. Two brothers, Robert Petersen and Jon Petersen, predeceased her. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
