DORIS GRACE KNECHTEL

Doris was born Nov. 28, 1928 in Alpena to the late Ernest and Edna (Francis) Moulds. She married Vic Knechtel on Dec. 30, 1959 in Lansing. Doris was employed at Alpena Savings Bank for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and playing cards, especially Bridge. Doris was an active member and supporter of the Alpena Plaza Pool, and a long-time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Alpena.

Doris is survived by her son Wm. Carney Knechtel and his wife Lynn of Alpena, two grandsons, Connor of Alanson, and Dakota of Caledonia, her sister in-law, Patricia (Moulds) Hentkowski of Presque Isle, her very close friend, Hattie Sheppler, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Chet, Bill, and Ron Moulds, and her sister, Sandy Cleveland.

Doris is at McWilliams Funeral Home where visiting hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Visitation will resume on Monday, April 12, 2021 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Vicar Troy Spencer officiating.
