DONNA MARIE LaBONTE

Donna was born June 4, 1947 in Rogers City to the late Robert and Violet (Hartwick) Trapp. She received her Masters in Teaching and spent a large part of her life teaching elementary. She would eventually retire from the Alcona Community School District. Donna loved to travel, bargain hunting at rummage sales and flea markets, gardening, and had a big interest in light houses. She loved her family time and the grandkids always enjoyed spending time with her, especially with all the good junk food she always had on hand.

Donna is survived by her husband of 51 years, Richard LaBonte, her four children, Richard LaBonte, Jr., Elizabeth (Michael Aurand), George LaBonte, Amanda (Joseph) McEwen, seven grandchildren, Angelina (T.J.) Allen, Anthony (Angela) Gibbs, Megan (Chris) LaBonte, Melissa (Ashton) LaBonte, Brandon LaBonte, Heather McEwen, Justin McEwen, 3 stepgrandchildren, Passion (Larry) Bensett, Chazze Aurand, Kylee Aurand, 3 brothers, Wayne Trapp, Glen (Sue) Trapp, Robert Trapp, two sisters, Shirley (James) Smith, Judy Trapp, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Joseph Robert, both parents, two infant siblings, David and Diane Trapp, and a brother in-law.

Family will receive guests on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at McWilliams Funeral Home. Visitation will resume on Friday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Ossineke from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tyler Bischoff officiating. Interment will follow at St. Catherine Catholic Cemetery.
