GERALDINE ALLEN
Geraldine “Nurse Gerri” Allen, 76 of Hillman, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Feb. 9, 2021. Geraldine Ann Cunningham was born on Dec. 7, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to the late Howard and Grace (Henderson) Cunningham. She graduated from Waterford Kettering High School and then entered nursing school in Ann Arbor, Michigan and became a LPN. She married Roy Allen on June 12, 1964 in Waterford, Michigan. They were blessed with two children during their 57 years of marriage. Gerri worked at Pontiac General Hospital, Russell Memorial Hospital, and Thunder Bay Community Health. She enjoyed the casinos, golf, and her family.
Surviving are her husband, Roy, a daughter, Denise (Gerald) Kirchoff, of Lachine, six loving grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister, Gloria (John) Gazette, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Russell “Rusty” Allen, sister, Nancy Cunningham, and niece, LeighAnn Cousins.
Cremation is being handled by Green Funeral Home. No services per her wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena. Condolence messages may be sent via greenfuneralhomes.com
