BETTY JANE SMIGELSKI

Betty Jane LaCross was born in Alpena on Sept. 26, 1959 to the late Thomas and Joyce (White) LaCross and married Donald Smigelski on Oct. 6, 1979. She was employed at Alpena Public Schools and has been a board member of Friends Together for 15 years. Betty was a member of All Saints Parish, Friends Together, enjoyed her Wednesday “Sew Sista’s” and spending time at Long Lake with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Don, three sons, Philip Smigelski, William (Lori) Smigelski, Andrew (fiancee, Emily Kroll) Smigelski, three grandchildren, Gabriel, Hailey, Hannah, seven siblings, Edmund (Suzii) LaCross, Thomas (Gerrie) LaCross, Debbie Gleason, Peggy (Tom) Marzean, Patti (Mike Laseck) LaCross, Diane (Mike) Brown, Mark LaCross, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the private parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. For those unable to attend both parish prayer service and Mass will be livestreamed at bannanfuneralhome.com.
