CLARENCE A. ZWOLINSKI

Clarence A. Zwolinski, age 90 of Rogers City, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020 surrounded by his family.

He was born June 25, 1930 in Detour, Michigan to Andrew and Mary (Plewa) Zwolinski.

When Clarence turned 18 he joined the Army and served in the Korean War. After the service he worked in Toledo, Ohio as an electrician repairing freighter motors. He then moved up to the Upper Peninsula where he worked in the Quarry for several years. He worked for Erkfritz Plumbing, Detour School system then was transferred to Rogers City where he worked on the new High School. From there he worked in maintenance for the Rogers City Hospital, where he met his loving wife Patricia (Marquardt) Mulka and they were married on Oct. 24, 1970. He and Patricia raised their blended family of 11 children. Clarence retired after 28 years at the Rogers City Hospital.

In retirement, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow. He also loved woodworking in his shop and bird-watching. He became a 4th Degree Knight and was a member of the Posen Knights of Columbus Council #6657 where he was heavily involved.

Clarence is survived by his wife Patricia; 11 children Sue (Ren) Pilarski of Rogers City, Dan (Shelly) Zwolinski of Rogers City, Mark Zwolinski (Lauren Berry) of Rogers City, Greg (Gerri) Mulka of Presque Isle, Keith (Tina) Mulka of Hillman, Theresa (Joe) Kuchinski of Rogers City, Clifford (Jeanine) Mulka of Dryden, Kasha Mulka of Rogers City, Irene (Jeff) Kuznicki of Hawks, Pauline (Frank) Andrews of Hawks and Ellen (Dave) Stewart of Hillman; 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Janet Skinner of Pickford and Mary Lou (Gil) ZenZen of Bay City.

He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Mary Zwolinski, siblings John Zwolinski, Anna McConkey, Julia Walker, Sophia Clegg, Frank Zwolinski, Helen Klamerus, Mike Zwolinski, Virginia Blair, Marian Shadinaw, Florence Zwolinski, Everette Zwolinski and Granddaughter Sonja Schiepek and son-in-law Alan Kerr.

Friends may visit at the Beck Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. where the 4th degree Knights of Columbus will lead the rosary at 6:30 followed by the parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Monday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Arthur Duchnowicz and Fr. Stan Bereda officiating. Rogers City VFW Post 607 will offer a military tribute at church following Mass.

Burial will take place at St. Dominic Catholic Cemetery in Metz.

Memorials may be given to St. Dominic Catholic Church, 4th Degree Chalice Fund or McLaren Hospice in memory of Clarence Zwolinski.
