JUDITH MARIE JONES

Judith Marie Manning was born in Alpena to the late Fredrick and Lillian (Lewis) on Jan. 16, 1942. She graduated from Alpena High School, Central Michigan College and Graceland University, specializing in early childhood, and counseled in parenting class. On March 8, 1969, she married Kenneth Jones. Judy worked for Alpena Public Schools for 28 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of MARSP and Community of Christ Church-Lachine, where she served in many ways. She enjoyed singing for weddings, the community, and her church. Her love for learning and music continued her whole life including taking lessons currently.

Surviving are her husband Ken; three children, Brian (Megan) Jones, Jennifer (Chris) VanVoorst, Kendra (David) Booth; five grandchildren, Justin, Harrison, Jack, Sadie, Nathan; two siblings, Linda Kleitch, George Manning; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by grandson, Trevor VanVoorst and an infant brother, Bruce Manning.

A private graveside service has taken place. Memorial visitation will take place Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at noon with Elder Alison Woods officiating. Arrangements by Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community of Christ Church-Lachine.
