GARY WAYNE ST. CHARLES SR.

Gary was born Oct. 1, 1941 in Charlevoix, Michigan to the late Thomas and Mildred (Holton) St. Charles and grew up in East Jordan, Michigan, graduating from high school in May 1959. From April 1960 until July 1969 he worked for the Michigan State Highway Department on road construction and then went to work for the Alpena County Road Commission as an engineering tech until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2001. On Oct. 27, 1976, he married Bonnie (Bonita) Homant. She preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 2018. Following their retirement, they enjoyed spending winters in Bradenton, Florida.

Surviving are his eight children, Gary (Kim) St. Charles, Kathy (Bill) Allen, Joe (Alma) St. Charles, Connie (Gary) Mason, Jennifer (Ken) Wieczorkowski, Michelle (Keith) Wing, Chris St. Charles, Tom (Rose) St. Charles, 30 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mr. St. Charles was preceded in death by two siblings, Thomas St. Charles and Pat Johnson.

Memorial visitation will take place at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.
