GARY LEE DORR

Gary was born July 13, 1950 in Alpena to the late Gerald and Phyllis (Smigelski) Dorr. He was a graduate of Alpena High School. He married Judy Landry on Feb. 7, 1976. Gary worked at the Midway Supermarket on Chisholm Street for many years before retiring. He then enjoyed spending time at McDonalds Collision where he helped out for over 10 years. Gary was a member of the Alpena Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed spending time with family, and all the beauty that nature had to offer, which included observing various rocks, fishing, hunting, and long walks. Gary was also known for his tinkering; in fact, the saying was “it isn’t broke until Papa can’t fix it.” He will be dearly missed.

Gary is survived by his wife, Judy, his children, Rebecca Trelfa (Mark Wyman), and Jeremy (Rebecca) Dorr, nine grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katlyn, Emily, Alayna, and Lucas Trelfa, and Autumn, Jeremiah, Benjamin, and Sarah Dorr, three siblings, Dennis (Deb) Dorr, Geri Ann (Tom) Witkowski, Terry (Brenda) Dorr, and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at McWilliams Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Leslie Nye officiating.
