DAVID J. (KELLY) KIELISZEWSKI

David J. Kieliszewski, 88, of Alpena, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July, 5, 2020, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

He was born on Aug. 14, 1931, to the late Isadore and Blondine (Szymanski) Kieliszewski, in Alpena, Michigan. David served in the U.S. Army during the Koran War from 1953 to 1955. He married Esther Dziesinski on Oct. 1, 1955, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen, Michigan. He was employed by the Besser Co. from 1951 until 1993 retiring after 42 years and was a part-time farmer. David was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, and a longtime usher. Dave enjoyed calling bingo, going to the casino, beating his children in cards, helping his son-in-law on the dairy farm, woodworking, building puzzles, getting together with his children and grandchildren, dancing and listening to polish music and telling stories from his younger days.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Esther, seven children, Janet (Russ) Tolan of Ossineke, Susan (Tony) Vittitow of Oscoda, James (Brenda) Kieliszewski of Alpena, Don (Chris) Kieliszewski of Lachine, Richard (Bonnie) Kieliszewski of Hadley, Diane Kieliszewski of Pinckney, Mark (Dawn) Kieliszewski of Clarkston, nine grandchildren, David (Gretchen) Tolan, Dr. Laurie Jackowiak, Amy (Jason) Tolan-Budnick, Jillian Schultz, Sally (Bryan) Linstrom, Emilie Schultz, Shelby (Nick) Dudley, Ethan and Jason Kieliszewski, nine great-grandchildren, Emma, Colyn, Liliana, Gabriella, Vanessa, Beckham, Everly, Cole, Eliana; 11 stepgrandchildren/great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. with full military honors beginning at 7 p.m. accorded by VFW Post 2496. Visitation will continue on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 11 a.m. with Fr. Tyler Bischoff officiating at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.

Internment: Holy Cross Cemetery
