He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, and their two children: Samuel L., of Spruce, Michigan, and Sarah E. (Steven) Simkins, of Midland, Michigan, four grandchildren: Joseph, Alisha, Cory, and Kelsey (Daniel), two great-grandchildren, one sister, Louise Jansen, of Linden, Michigan, stepsister, Phyllis Henry, of Fenton, Michigan, half-brother, Lorance Nelson of Sanford, Michigan.

Per his wishes he has been taken from the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home for cremation. A private family Committal Service will be held at a later date at the Thetford Township Cemetery in Clio, Michigan.
