LEE BRYAN GRANT II

Lee Bryan Grant II, 44, of Alpena, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 15, 2020 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. Lee was a longtime resident of Alpena. He graduated from Alpena High School and entered the Police Academy at Kirtland Community College shortly after. He began his career as a deputy with the Alcona Sheriff’s Department before making the move to the Alpena City Police Department where he served until present time. He served on the Alpena HUNT team as well. Lee was very involved in the community. He coached baseball, football, basketball and softball. He served on the Alpena Childcare and Development Board and currently the Huron Shores Babe Ruth Baseball Board. Lee was in his own words: a sports dad, trivia team captain, mildly successful hunter and amateur dog photographer. He will certainly be missed by many. Lee is survived by his wife Barb, his three children, Wyatt, Blake, Emma, his father Lee, his sister Michelle (Joe) Bazner, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor and his brother, Dan. Lee is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on Friday, March 20, 2020 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Joe Collins officiating.
