RONALD JOHN KOWALSKI

Ronald John Kowalski, 73, of Ossineke, entered eternal peace on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was a compassionate and caring man that will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ron was born on Aug. 22, 1946 to the late John and Alma (Timmreck) Kowalski in Alpena, Michigan. Ron was lifelong resident of the Alpena area and a graduate of Alpena High School. Shortly after he served his country in the United States Army.

On June 28, 1969 he married the love of his life Donna Hall at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Ron enjoyed woodworking, going on long nature hikes, fishing, and hunting. What he found the most joy in was spending time with his family especially his grandkids. Throughout the years Ron and his family were members at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hope Lutheran Church, and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, as well as a 20-year member of the Flying Squirrel Hunt Club.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna, three children, Robert John (Wendy McDaniel) Kowalski of Brighton, Michigan, Nikki McCord of East Tawas, Michigan, and Jennifer (Tom Donaghy) Kowalski of Whittemore, Michigan, six grandchildren, Staff Sgt. Kirsten (Logan) Pines, Matthew Kowalski, Megan Kowalski, Emily Whiteford, Logan DeMarest, and Brady Donaghy, and twin brother Donald (Shirley) Kowalski. He was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Kowalski.

Family will receive friends at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Ossineke on Tuesday Feb. 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jack Ferguson officiating. Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the United States Army-Camp Grayling.
