ARNOLD SCHALKOFSKE

Arnie was born March 6, 1937 in Hubbard Lake to the late Edgar and Frieda (Zarske) Schalkofske. Arnie was a lifelong resident of the Hubbard Lake area other than the two years he served in the Army. He married Mary Lou Evans on Oct. 21, 1961 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Hubbard Lake where he served as an elder and President of the AAL Group. Arnie was someone who took joy in others’ happiness. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was also known as a steward of the earth. Arnie will be dearly missed by many.

Arnie is survived by his wife Mary Lou, four children; David (Linda), Paul, Anne (Ryan) Hendrickson, Jon (Renae), his sister Margaret Olsen (Roy Champagne), 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Violet Norton and his brother Herman.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hubbard Lake. Visiting will resume on Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating.
