RANDALL TREBOR LOUGH

Randall (Randy) Trebor Lough, passed away on Jan. 22, 2020 at his home after a long battle with heart disease.

Randall was born Aug. 3, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan to Bette M. (Pearson) Lough and the late Robert J. Lough. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1964 and attended Michigan State University. Randall served in the United States Air Force for four (4) years spending some of that time at Air Force bases in other states. He worked in his father’s Alpena-based business (Town Radio Magnavox/Amana) for a few years before going to work in the Corporate Headquarters for Besser Co. in Alpena, Michigan as a concrete machinery professional. Randall retired from Besser Co. in 2007 after 24 years. His work at Besser Co. took him all over the world during which he made many friends throughout the U.S. and in several other countries that he continued to keep in touch with even after his retirement. Because of his specialized expertise, Randall’s international and U.S.-based work associates on occasion would request he be part of a team providing the same technical services to install or demolish Besser’s equipment. Alpena has been Randall’s home base for his many business trips domestically or internationally since 1968.

Randall will be missed deeply by his family and friends for many reasons. Not the least of which is his endearing humor and fun-loving personality and his unselfish willingness to help anyone and everyone, “installing or fixing anything electronic.” He loved technology in all shapes and forms and was always making or fixing something for his own use or enjoyment or for his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother, Bette Lough from Alpena; brother Gregory Lough from Cape Cod, Massachusetts; sister Mei-lan Fredlund and her husband Don from Peoria, Arizona; two nieces and nephews, Cecily Robyn Lough, Courtney Fredlund, Spencer (Amy) Fredlund, Parker (Johanna) Fredlund; six great-nieces and -nephews; aunt Shirley Spisak from Sarasota, Florida, uncle Jim Pearson from Grand Blanc, Michigan and their families.

Visitation will take place Monday at Bannan Funeral Home from 4-6 p.m. A private graveside service will take place.

Take care of your heart. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Heart Association.
