ESTHER ELSIE REDDEMAN

Esther Elsie Reddeman, 101, of Alpena, entered eternal peace on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at MediLodge of Alpena. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt that will be dearly missed by all.

Esther was born on Aug. 15, 1918 to the late August and Lydia (Schiller) Beyer in Alpena, Michigan. She grew up here in the Alpena area attending the Byer school, which her father August donated the building for. On Aug. 22, 1942 she married Hector Reddeman at St. Matthews Lutheran Church-Herron.

She worked at J.L. Hudson for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a long-time active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Esther enjoyed listening to the radio, especially the Detroit Tigers games. She loved to watch the National News as well as “60 Minutes.” Esther found joy in many different things but spending time with family and having Sunday dinners with her siblings were the two things she enjoyed most.

Esther is survived by two children, Chuck (Cherrie) Reddeman, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, and Leslie Reddeman, of Detroit, Michigan, two grandchildren, Matthew Reddeman and Kelly Kelsey, two great-grandchildren, Emma Kelsey and Asher Reddeman, three sisters, Lucille Liske, Phyllis (Richard) Liske, and Arlene Dubie, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Hector, four sisters, Mildred Johnston, Violet Opland, Dorthea Pfeiffer, Helen Schultz, and four brothers, August Beyer Jr., Norman Byer, Elmer Beyer and Raymond Beyer.

Family will receive friends at McWilliams Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 from noon until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Leslie Nye officiating. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial donation to St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com.
