JEANETTE (HANSEN) GROVE

Jeanette was born on June 14, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Martin and Esther (Carlson) Hansen. In 1936, the family moved to Alpena where she completed her education graduating from Alpena High School in 1946. On March 8, 1947, she married Harry Edgar Grove Jr. of Hillman. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 2011.

Jeanette was employed by Alpena Public Schools, retiring in 1988. She was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she held many positions: Sunday School superintendent and teacher, catechism instructor, Luther League sponsor, choir member, quilter, L.S.S.M. director, also a Circle member. Jeanette was a member of MARSP and a Hospice volunteer.

Surviving are her son, Gary (Kay) Grove; daughters, Beverly (Mark) Suszek, Cindy Lou (Joel) Suszek; five grandsons, Brian (Bernice) Grove, Brad (Shelley) Grove, Tyler (Stephanie) Suszek, Cody Suszek, Logan Suszek; six great-grandchildren, Kevin, Katelyn and Ethan Grove, Harper, Hadleigh, RayLynn Suszek; and sister, Elaine Hatch.

Mrs. Grove was preceded in death by an infant son, Mark; brothers, Lloyd, Clifford, Vernon, Ron and their spouses.

Visitation will take place Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church from 4-8 p.m. and continue there Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Thomas Orth officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
