EDWIN C. LISKE

Edwin C. Liske, 81, of Hubbard Lake, Michigan passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family on Monday, Sept. 30, 2019.

Edwin was born on the family farm in Hubbard Lake on Aug. 27, 1938 to the late Herman F. and Caroline (Schultz) Liske. He grew up on the family farm, attending a one-room school, Stoval, until attending school in Alpena, graduating in 1956 from Alpena High School. On April 27, 1957, he married Gayle M. Brandenburg at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Herron, Michigan. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 2012. They were married 55 years.

Edwin worked as a farmer and at Steelcraft in Alpena. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had a deep faith. He was very involved in his church.

He is survived by his four daughters, Barbara (Daryl) Golder, of Hubbard Lake, Tamyra (Don) Smith, of Tokyo, Japan, Beverly (Bruce) Mayville, of Fairview, Lori (Scott) Kissau, of Traverse City; nine grandchildren, Melissa Krueger, Douglas (Jesse) Krueger, Bradley (Rachel) Gerke, Kristin (Jeff) Beebe, Brian Gerke, Alicia (Matt) Liske, Ciji (Nick) Marckini, Jason (Rene Lounsbery) Gerke, Elyse Kissau; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Morrow, of Hubbard Lake; sister-in-law, Lucille Liske, of Livonia; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were four sisters, Bertha Schwenke, Ida Ritthaler, Alma Liske, Esther Lipski; five brothers, Leonard, Arnold, Herbert, Arthur and Henry Liske.

Memorial visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Hubbard Lake from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at noon with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Bannan Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or Alpena Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels.

Inurnment: Wolf Creek Cemetery.
