ARTHUR L. STEPANSKI

On Oct. 31, 1928, Arthur was born in Alpena, Michigan to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Romel) Stepanski Sr. He married Dolores DuLac on May 20, 1950, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, they were blessed with 56 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 2006. Art served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954. He began working at the Douville Bakery and later as a route salesman for the Oven Fresh Bakery, retiring in 1990. Art was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and he enjoyed spending his time playing pool and was on several Pool Leagues including the Over 40 League and the Alpena Men’s League. Art loved to bake and share his famous chocolate chip cookies, cherry cheese cake, pistachio bread, and nuts and bolts with his friends and family.

He is survived by his son David (Nancy) Stepanski of West Bloomfield, Michigan; one daughter Martha Jo (Arthur) Nelson, of Warren, Michigan; two grandchildren: Christopher and Adam; two great-grandchildren: Oliver and Jameson; two brothers: Joseph Stepanski Jr. and Raymond Stepanski, both of Alpena, Michigan; one sister Theresa (Patrick) Dignan, of Alpena, Michigan; one foster sister: Geraldine (Clare) Kaiser, of Alpena, Michigan; along with several nieces and nephews.

Art was preceded in death by two brothers: Clement and Thomas Stepanski and four sisters: Alice Brousseau, Jeanette Stepanski, Elaine Olsen, and Margaret Grambau.

Family and friends will gather for memorial visitation on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church from 11 a.m. until the Memorial Service begins at noon with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating, followed by Full Military Honors accorded by the V.F.W. Post 2496.
