RICK SHUPERT

Rick Shupert, formerly from Alpena, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2019, surrounded by his family in Kansas City, Kansas after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rick was born in Alpena, Michigan June 8, 1959. He graduated Alpena High School in 1977. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann Nowak, on Feb. 25, 1978. He then moved to Kansas City and gained his master plumber’s licenses. He opened and operated his own successful business, Rick Shupert’s Plumbing.

Rick loved to spend time with his family and attend his grandson’s baseball games. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and Royals fan. All who knew him will miss his quick wit and smile.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ann Shupert, daughter Shaunda Shupert, and, according to Rick, three of the best grandchildren, Hannah Tennant, Matthew Tennant, and Trevor Tennant, brothers Jim Shupert, of Alpena, and John (Jeanette) Shupert, of Ossineke, several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law and cousins. With one special cousin whom he considered a brother, Dan Schiller, of Colorado. He was preceded in death by daughter Alisha, brother Tom Shupert, sister Debbie Shupert, parents John and Virginia Shupert, brother-in-law Jerry Nowak, and in-laws Stanley and Shirley Nowak.
