JAMES WILLIAM KUCHNICKI

James William Kuchnicki, 82, of Alpena, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

James was born in Alpena on June 30, 1937 to the late Frank and Jane (Stosick) Kuchnicki. He served in the United States Navy. On Sept. 7, 1959 he married Eileen Piaskowski. James managed the Clark gas station and later sailed for Inland Lakes Management. He was a member of All Saints Parish and Knights of Columbus. Jim was an avid sports fan, liked being outdoors, and was proud of his daughters.

Surviving are his wife, Eileen; four daughters, Mary (Paul) Kuehl, Carleen Wagner, Kathleen Mudry, Marcie (Geoff) Shaughnessy; five grandchildren, Andrew (Emma) Kuehl, Matthew Kuehl, Sarah Shaughnessy, Anna Mudry, Alec Mudry; one great-grandson, Jaxton Sharp; brother, Mark Kuchnicki; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Kuchnicki.

Mr. Kuchnicki was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Thomas Mudry; granddaughter, Chelsea Wagner; and three siblings, Jeanette Sydlowski, Carl Kuchnicki, and Carla Potter.

Visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with military honors by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496 at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday at St. Mary Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
