Esther A. Schaedig, 93, of Rogers City, passed away Aug. 10, 2019 at MediLodge in Rogers City.

She was born June 6, 1926 in Rogers City to George and Leona (McLalin) Feldhiser.

Esther married Erhardt Schaedig on Jan. 6, 1945 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Moltke. She was the cook at the Presque Isle County Jail for 13 years.

Mrs. Schaedig is survived by her four children, Dale (Ruth) Schaedig of Dexter, Margaret (Dale) Morrison of Rogers City, Larry (Sue) Schaedig of Gaylord, and Edward (Cindy) Schaedig of Chelsea; nine grandchildren, Rebecca (John) Pehovic, Sara Schaedig, Ryan (Melinda) Schaedig, Eric (Danielle) Schaedig, Jennifer (Matt) Groen, Gwen (Chris) Luetzow, Ashley (Dave) Brainerd, Josh (Olivia) Brainerd, Derek Schaedig; eight great-grandchildren, Chase, Anna, Derek, Carter, Garrett, Allison, Audrey, Evan; brother, Andy (Jean) Feldhiser; and four sisters-in-law, Lillian Keineth, Katie Schaedig, Aggie Schaedig, and Barb Schaedig.

She was preceded in death by her husband Erhardt in 1991, parents, George and Leona, two brothers, George and John; two sisters, Leota and Florence.

Friends may visit at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, Aug. 12, from 3 p.m. till time of her funeral at 4 p.m. with Pastor Phillip Phifer officiating.

Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in Esther’s memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. John’s Radio Fund or a Charity of your Choice.
