DELORES SPANGLER

Delores “Cookie” Spangler, 84, of Hubbard Lake, Michigan passed away on Aug. 16, 2019. Delores was born in Canton, Illinois on June 22, 1935 to the late Vernon and Anne Wilkinson.

She and husband James (Jim) were avid RV travelers who journeyed every winter to visit relatives and friends in Illinois, California, Texas, Arizona and Nevada. She was a dedicated and caring paraprofessional at Pied Piper Opportunity Center for almost three decades. Delores was a kind, loving person who always saw the good in everyone.

She is survived by her four children, Chele (Larry) Kuznicki, Tammy (Mark) Timm, Jim Jr., and Julie (Mark) Kapa; one brother, Donald (Mary) Wilkinson, and one brother-in-law, Dean (Kay) Coulter. She will be greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Delores was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Maurice; one beloved sister; and four loving brothers (who affectionately nicknamed her “Cookie”).

A “celebration of life” gathering for family and friends will be held at Woody’s Restaurant, Grand Lake, on Sept. 21 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Presque Isle Township Cemetery.
