Lucille Louise Bartreau, 89, of Alpena passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 9, 2019.

Lou was born Jan. 13, 1930 in Pontiac and moved to Ossineke as a young girl. She later moved to Alpena where she worked as a waitress and bartender. Lou married the love of her life Stanley Bartreau on June 27, 1949. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Lou lived life to the fullest and will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit. She enjoyed trips to the casino, vacationing in Colorado at her sons, and time spent with friends and family. Her greatest joy was her two great granddaughters. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Lou is survived by her loving husband, two children; Michael (Juliann) Bartreau of Bailey, Colo., Laorie Bartreau of Alpena, a granddaughter Tressa (Jason) Zielaskowski of Hubbard Lake, two great-granddaughters; Mia Lou and Stella Mae Zielaskowski, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her three siblings; Emerson Rankin, Rhea McKinnon, and Mary Zemkie. The family wishes to thank relatives, friends, and neighbors who have extended emotional support for Lou during her final days. Per Lou’s request she has been taken for cremation with a private service to be held for family. Lou will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
