LAWRENCE FREDRICK ROSS
Lawrence “Larry” Fredrick Ross, age 67, of Alpena, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center of Alpena.
On Sept. 8, 1951, Lawrence was born to the late Fredrick and Margaret (Kieliszewski-Kelly) Ross in Alpena, Mich. Larry worked for the Midway Supermarket from 1967, until the store closed, later became a home health aide. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Larry enjoyed debating politics with his family and friends, and was an avid collector of guns, knives, and coins. He will be remembered by his friends and family as a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Larry is survived by his three children Timothy (Melissa) Ross of Pickford, Mich.; Christopher (MarthaMary) Ross and Brandon Ross both of Alpena, Mich.; four grandchildren: Chelsea, Timothy, Patience and Alyssa. Also survived by his former wives: Diane Filarski, mother of Timothy and Christopher; along with Sonya Grulke mother of Brandon; one sister Linda (Rick) Laquerre of Alpena, Mich.; and two nieces Kelly Thomas and Sarah King.
He was preceded in death by one brother James McWilliams.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at St. Bernard Catholic Church of All Saints Parish on Monday, July 29, 2019, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Fitzpatrick officiating at St. Bernard Catholic Church of All Saints Parish. Arrangements are being handled through the Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alpena Cancer Center in memory of Lawrence.
