VIRGINIA ANN MARCINIAK

Bay City, Mich.

Virginia Ann Marciniak, 95, our loving mother, grandmother and aunt, died peacefully at Carriage House of Bay City with her family by her side. She was born on July 27, 1923 to the late Leo and Frances (Kielpinski) Rezmer on the family farm in Linwood. Virginia was a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Parish. During WWII, she was a Rosie the Riveter working at Bay City Dow Chemical Magnesium Foundry, was then employed by the Beautel Canning Company and Autolite. Virginia enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing, traveling and going to the casino.

On Oct. 4, 1941 Virginia married Frank Marciniak at St. Valentines Catholic Church and he preceded her in death in 1991. Surviving family members include her four children: Kenneth (Marietta) Marciniak of Essexville, Maxine Donajkowski of Alpena, Janet (Dave) Nowak of Auburn and Anne (Paul) Witter of Pinconning; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Shirley Marciniak and Alice Rezmer; many nieces and nephews; special niece, Jean Kukla. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughter, Nancy (Terry) Auman; grandson, Tony Joe Donajkowski; son-in-law, David Donajkowski; daughter-in-law, Arlene Marciniak; siblings: Frank Rezmer, Wanda (Al) Novak, Louis (Henrietta) Rezmer, Pauline (Larry) Debo, Archie Rezmer, Leo (Lorraine) Rezmer, Anastasia (Tony) Kukla, Regina Rezmer and Helen Rezmer.

The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, 2956 E. North Union, Bay City. Virginia will lie in state at the church Saturday after 9 a.m. Father Charles Donajkowski will preside and Rite of Committal will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Catherine of Sienna Parish or Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. Visiting hours are Friday, June 28, 2019 from 3 to 8 p.m., with the Vigil Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in the W. A. Trahan Funeral Chapel. For online sentiments: www.trahanfc.com
