THERESA ELAINE VREDENBURG

On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, Theresa Elaine Vredenburg, age 51, of Ossineke, ran and jumped into the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior and he spoke these words to her. “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

The daughter of William (Bob) and Elaine (DeCaire) Richard of Alpena, Theresa entered this world on Sept. 21, 1967, and the angels in heaven rejoiced. She attended St Anne’s School, Thunder Bay Jr. High, Alpena High and Alpena Community College. Theresa loved to work in areas where she could serve and shine the light of Jesus on the people she met. She worked many years ago at Lud’s on Chisholm, Mental health homes, and Lefave Pharmacy until accepting the most rewarding job of her life as the mother of three wonderful children. In 2018, after all the kids were grown, she worked at St. Vincent De Paul’s, until breast cancer returned and she could no longer work.

Theresa had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in church. Her father taught her to love nature, so she loved camping, fishing, tubing, ice skating, church camp, Big Ticket Music Festival, Casting Crowns concerts, Disney trips, going on adventures to the U.P. and anything with family. Her big smile and friendly personality led the way, and everywhere she went, she made new friends, that she dearly loved. The love that she showed was for everyone and was from Jesus.

Theresa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ron Vredenburg of Ossineke; and their three children Renee (Sean) Holloway of Grand Haven, Nathan Vredenburg of Alpena, and Sarah Vredenburg of Ossineke; dogs Lilly and Lexi; two sisters: Annette (Mark) Wade, Sally (William) Hawley; two brothers William (Sue) Richard and Paul Richard; mother and father-in-law Gerald and Shirley Vredenburg; sister- in-law Karen (Pete) Cole, two brothers-in-law Tom Vredenburg, Randy Vredenburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Theresa was preceeded in death by her parents Bob and Elaine Richard.
