MARTIN EARLE LaHAIE

Martin was born on Nov. 8, 1955 in Cheboygan, Mich., to Lawrence and Marvel (Thorne) LaHaie and moved to Alpena at the age of one, where he remained his entire life. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1973 at which time he began working for R.S. Scott Associates until retiring in 1989 due to declining health. As a child he became fascinated with antique automobilia, a passion that continued throughout his life. On Oct. 20, 1979 he married Cyndi Duby. Together they had three children who he enjoyed spending time with and taking on adventures. He passed along his enthusiasm for collecting to his children who can always feel his presence with their own collections.

Martin is survived by his devoted wife Cyndi; three children, Marty (Melissa) LaHaie of Grand Rapids, Todd LaHaie of Alpena, Becky (Andrew) Francoeur of Grand Ledge; seven grandchildren, Claire, Max, Scarlett, Miles, Logan, Christine, Keaghan. His mother, Marvel LaHaie of Alpena; two brothers, Greg (Linda) LaHaie of Alpena, Larry (Jennifer) LaHaie of Grand Ledge; his mother-in-law, June Duby and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Lawrence LaHaie and his father-in-law Robert Duby.
