EDWARD BARTZ
Edward Bartz, 92, of Hubbard Lake, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at MediLodge Alpena. He was born on Aug. 31, 1927 to the late Edward and Bertha (Brick) Bartz in Mt. Morris, Mich. Edward served his country in the United States Army, worked as a sailor on the Great Lakes cement boats for 20 years, worked for Petch Manufacturing, and then on to work for Alpena Public Schools as the custodian where he eventually retired from. Edward joined hands in marriage to Rachel Nordstrom on May 27, 1950 and remained happily married for 50 years until her passing in 2001.
Edward is survived by three children, Diane (Don) Krajnik, James (Bonnie) Bartz, both of Alpena, and Rick Bartz of Marquette, Mich.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister Jeanette (Jim) Amell of Hubbard Lake. He was preceded in death by his wife Rachel and a brother Howard Bartz.
McWilliams Funeral Home has been entrusted with Edward’s care and an immediate interment will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at King Settlement Cemetery in Wilson Township.
