CARL DAVID MAURER

On June 28, 1957, Carl was born to the late Carl John and Mary (Bleau) Maurer in Alpena, Mich. Carl retired from Ossineke Industries after 41 years. He married Annette Sowiecki on July 29, 1978 at St. Anne Catholic Church. Carl was a member of Friends Together and St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, tinkering with his hobby projects, and capturing memories with his family and many pets.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Annette and their five children: Nicole Maurer of Washington; Lace Eaton; Ashley (Nathan) Kleven; both of Alpena, Mich.; Matthew (Kate) Maurer of Iowa; Nathan (Heather Wirgau) Maurer of Alpena, Mich.; three grandchildren: John and Dave Eaton, Kida Maurer; his six siblings: Julie (Patrick) Brown of Florida; Marian (Russell) Schaffer of Florida; Connie Miller of Posen, Mich.; Robert (Lori) Maurer; Joseph (Angela) Maurer; and Bernadette (Jeff) Schuelke all of Alpena, Mich.; two brothers-in-law: Tony and Alex Sowiecki both of Alpena, Mich., and several nieces and nephews.

Carl was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Dave Miller.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Karpus-Hunter Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m., with a Parish Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial begins with Fr. Joe Muszkiewicz officiating.

Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
