WESLEY MILTON GEORGE

Wesley Milton George, 80, of Alpena, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at the University of Michigan Hospital.

Wesley was born Sept. 26, 1938 to the late Thomas and Grace (Buck) George. Shortly after high school graduation he entered the U.S. Army. It was during his time in the Army that Wesley met Sarah “Sally” Elliott. The two of them were married on June 9, 1962 at the Hillcrest Church of the Nazarene in Alton, Ill. Wesley always stayed busy, whether it was woodworking making various things the church needed or giving a ride to those needing to get to church. Wesley was a living example of what it means to serve others. He cherished his time with family but above all else cherished his relationship with Jesus Christ. His unwavering faith was a comfort to those blessed to have known him, he will be dearly missed.

Wesley is survived by his wife of 56 years; Sally, three children; Richard (Pam) George, Thomas (Lisa) George, and Jodie George, two siblings; Marilyn (Tino) Oliva, and Gerald, nine grandchildren; Richard, Daniel, Andrew, Michael, Joshua, Nathaniel, Marissa Roden, Zachary, and Michael, seven great-grandchildren; Colin, Lily, Lucy, Rowan, Camden, Lincoln, and Ian. He is preceded in death by his brother Charles.

Wesley is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where family will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Alpena Free Methodist Church with Rev.
