MARTIN JOSEPH SUSZEK
Martin Joseph Suszek, 80, of Presque Isle, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Dec. 29 at his home. Martin was born on Nov. 30, 1938 to the late Walter and Lillian (Kasubowski) Suszek at their home in Bolton, Mich. Martin married the love of his life Ann (Blemke) on Aug. 22, 1959 in Hawks, Mich.
Over the years of Martin’s life, he developed a love for tinkering and fixing things. So much in fact that not only was he the head mechanic but also the owner of Alpena Diesel Service. He enjoyed fixing things at his home (and just about anything he could get his hands on) including maintaining his yard. But what Martin loved most was spending time with his family especially his grandsons and great-granddaughters. Martin was also a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he also served as an usher.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Ann, two sons, M. Joel (Cindy) Suszek of Hillman, Mich., and Mark (Beverly) Suszek of Bolton, three grandchildren, Tyler (Stephanie) Suszek, Cody Suszek, and Logan Suszek, two great-granddaughters Harper and Hadleigh, and a sister Margaret Greengtski.
He is preceded in death by a sister Doris Misiak, and a brother Walter Suszek, Jr.
Martin is at McWilliams Funeral Home where family will receive friends on Wed. Jan 2, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Joshua Schultz officiating.
