MILDRED M. KINGSBURY

Mildred M. (Marker) Kingsbury was born on Oct.16, 1918, to William and Kathryn Mallory in Kanabec Township, Minn. She passed away at Brookhaven Manor in Ann Arbor, Mich., on Nov. 5, 2018.

Mildred married her husband William Wayne Marker in December of 1940. They moved to Michigan and raised their two children Joseph and Susan. Mildred worked as a secretary for Lake Shore Public Schools from 1959-1966. Mildred and Wayne ran Scott’s Ice-cream Parlor during their stay in Alpena, Mich., from 1966-1971. Mildred eventually retired from Saginaw Schools as head bookkeeper in 1981. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, bowling, playing cards, scrabble, completing crosswords and reading.

Mildred is survived by her children, Joseph (Connie) Marker and Susan (William) Bailey; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, William Wayne Marker; her second husband Henry Kingsbury and her parents William and Kathryn Mallory.

Visitation will take place this Friday, Nov. 9, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the Nie Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, Mich., with a service Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 10 a.m., Nie Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Cadillac Memorial Garden East, 38425 Garfield Rd, Clinton Township, Mich., after the service.
