BARBARA L. KOSAL

Barbara L. Kosal, 77, of Barton City, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at Jamieson Nursing Home in Harrisville.

Born Oct. 5, 1941 to Kenneth and Eleanor (Hyslop) Burns in Flint, Mich., she was raised there. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1957 with honors, and attended Flint Junior College. On June 11, 1960, she married Stuart Kosal in Flint. They were residents of Flint, and raised their family in Port Huron. They later moved to Brighton, and retired to Barton City in 2002. Barb was an avid golfer, took great pleasure in teaching her four grandchildren the game of golf, and enjoyed many “golf vacations.” Her enthusiasm for a game, whether it be cards, board games, or dice, served as the focal point for gatherings with family and friends. Barb took great joy in her flower gardening, especially the five foot geraniums that were the star of her front yard. She was a member of Lincoln United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Stu; children, Scott (Shelly) Kosal of Edgerton Wis., Kenneth (Michelle) Kosal of South Lyon, Mich., and Sheryl (Dennis) Smith of Barton City, Mich.; four grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Kristina, and Anthony (Tessa) Kosal; one great-grandson Lucas Cobb; one sister, Karen (Chuck) Ford of Fenton, Mich.; one brother, Richard (Kay) Burns of Lake Wales, Fla., as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Kosal is at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln, where friends may call on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 from noon until the funeral service at 1 p.m. Rev.
