WAYNE DAVID KOWALSKI

Wayne David Kowalski, 65, of Alpena, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

Wayne was born on April 8, 1953 in Alpena to the late John and Alma (Timmreck) Kowalski.

Wayne was known to be a close to the vest kind of guy. He was inventive and very good with his hands whether it was carpentry work or canning his wonderful bounty from his garden. His canning abilities were second to none. Wayne was an outdoorsman as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a long-time member of the Flying Squirrel Hunting Camp and a lifetime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Wayne is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Donna) of Ossineke, Donald (Shirley) of Posen; six nieces and nephews, Tina (Mike) Yeager, Amy (Darrin) Waggoner, John (Brenda) Kowalski, Robert Kowalski, Nikki McCord, Jennifer Kowalski; several great-nieces and -nephews; and two great-great-nephews.

Visitation for Wayne will be at St. Matthew Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon with Rev. Leslie Nye officiating.
