VIVIAN MARIE STRALEY

Vivian Marie Straley, 97, of Alpena, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 3, 2018.

Vivian was born on April 20, 1921 in Alpena to the late Frederick and Martha (Armstrong) Panknin. She married Thomas Straley on Feb. 16, 1943. He preceded her in death on Dec. 6, 2008.

Vivian was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Alpena. She was an avid golfer, spending many happy summer days on the golf course. For many years she also enjoyed bowling. In her early years, Vivian worked for the C. Fred Steel Insurance Agency. Later she was employed as a secretary at Alpena Community College and then Alpena High School.

Vivian is survived by one daughter, Rene (Daniel) Kendziorski; three sons, Philip (Janet), Melvin (Lois), and Robert; eight grandchildren, Todd, Scott, Eric, Erin, Ashley, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Zachary; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Virginia Flynn and Doris Mackey; and sister in-law, Joan Straley. She was preceded in death by sisters Melva, Norma, Ruth, and Edith; and brothers Delbert, Glen, and William.

Vivian has been taken for cremation with no services scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or a charity of choice. Online condolences can be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com.
