ARLENE FRANCES WILLIAMS

Arlene Frances Williams, 84, of Alpena passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at Hillman’s Haven.

Arlene Frances Lee was born in Alpena on Jan. 25, 1934, to the late Roy and Margaret (Eller) Lee. Arlene grew up in the Alpena area, and while attending Alpena High School she was the first editor and helped name the yearbook, Anamakee. Following high school graduation, she attended Michigan State University and returned to teach for 25 years for Alpena Public Schools. On Dec. 28, 1957, she married Gail Williams. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2017. She was a member of Leer Lutheran Church, she enjoyed bird watching, crocheting and basket weaving.

Surviving are her four children, Laurie and Alfred DuBruck, Rev. Owen and Marie Williams, Colleen and Randy Selby, Marilee and Jay Libka; six grandchildren, Chris (Monique), Inge, Billy, Andrew, Karl, Jordan; and a sister, Carole Robarge.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Lee; and a sister, Dorrell Konarzewski.

Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial visitation will continue at the Leer Lutheran Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Michaud officiating.
