LAWRENCE E. MILLER

Saginaw Twp., Mich.

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at New Hope Assisted Living. Age 84 years. Son of the late Joseph and Hilda (Gee) Miller, Lawrence was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Ionia, Mich. He married Elaine M. Diamond on April 28, 1951, in Lansing, Mich. He was a Michigan State Police Officer retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel after 38 years of service. Lawrence was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and past member of St. Casimir Catholic Church of Posen, Michigan, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus and Grand Knight for four years. He was also a member of Roger City Kiwanis where he served as President for one year.

Surviving besides his wife Elaine are one daughter and two sons, Therese and Gerard Tomkie, Neil and Judy Miller, Scott and Debra Miller; five grandchildren, Matt (Hollie), Katie (Jeremy), Peter (Kristina), Jessica and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Landon; his brother, Joseph (Marjorie).; his sister, Janette; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Liturgy will take place 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2017, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Rd., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thomas M. Kowalczyk will officiate. Honoring Mr. Miller’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., Saginaw, where the family will be present on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Msgr. Horton Assembly #2049 will pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund or Alzheimer’s Association.
