DAVID CHARLES JANOSKO

David “Shorty” Charles Janosko, 75, of Alpena, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

Shorty was born Dec. 13, 1942, in Clymer, Pa., to the late Charles and Anna (Henry) Janosko. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Patricia Ann Lewandowski on Feb. 4, 1967, in Alpena. She preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1979. Shorty was a millwright/welder for HPC where he retired from, but many will remember his time working for Prell’s Towing. Shorty was a great “people person.” He could go shopping or visit the flea market for hours but his only purpose there was to visit with all his friends. Prior to his failing health he enjoyed riding on his Harley Davidson.

Surviving are three daughters, Christina Janosko of Lansing, Mich., Brenda Janosko of Alpena, Sheila (Tim) Eaton of Ossineke; three grandsons, Matt, Jake, Caleb Eaton; a great-granddaughter, Madalin; a sister, Cheryl (Larry Sr.) Smith; four brothers, Tom (Linda), Danny (Virginia), Tim (Nancy) and Mark all of Pennsylvania, a special friend and companion, Delynn Frary of Alpena and her sons, Jason (Martha) and Bradley both of Lansing, Mich., and a number of nieces and nephews.

Shorty Janosko is at McWilliams Funeral Home – Alpena where friends may call on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Art Fournier officiating.
