BETTY LORRAINE NOLAN

Mrs. Betty Lorraine Nolan, 81 of Lewiston, Mich., died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sept. 29, 2017. She was born on Jan. 18, 1936 in North Branch, Mich., to the late, Burley and Erma (North) Harmon. She married her husband, Paul Nolan, on Nov. 3, 1956, in North Branch and together the couple celebrated 60 years of marriage before her passing. Formerly of Alpena, the couple moved to Lewiston in 1996. Betty was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild. She liked to help on the family farm and was a hard worker. Aside from those things she had various hobbies from cooking and baking to her love for Model A cars. She was blessed with a green thumb and loved her plants and taking care of them. A genuinely nice lady, Betty loved being a grandma. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Nolan of Lewiston; daughters, Darlene (John) Mulholland of Lewiston; Deborah (James) Sowders of Sturgis; Mary (Damian) O’Connor of White Pigeon; Beverly Crawford of East Jordan; son, Paul (Amber) Nolan of Alpena; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Vernon (Dorothy) Harmon of Bridgeport; Earl (Lodema) Harmon of North Branch; and Kenneth Harmon of North Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burley and Erma Harmon; brothers, Bernard and Melvin; sisters, Ivalene Lamphere; Wilma Botoha; and Beverly Harmon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nolan took place at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church; Lewiston; Fr. Matthew Furgiuele officiating. Interment followed services at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Green Funeral Home.
