MERVIL SCHMIDT

Mervil Klebs was born March 21, 1927, in Alpena County to the late William and Irene (Sheldon) Klebs. On Oct. 6, 1951, she married Garnet Schmidt and moved to the family farm, where they were dairy farmers until retirement. He preceded her in death on July 21, 2000. She will be remembered as a beautiful seamstress, an avid reader, and for baking her delicious bread and rolls.

Surviving are her daughter, Sheila (Brad) McLaren; grandson, Kyle; sister-in-law, Marian Klebs; four nephews and seven nieces.

Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by her brother, Don Klebs.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home-Hillman on Monday from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jason Mandley officiating.

Interment: Hillman Rust Township Cemetery
