JAMES ARTHUR JOHNSON

Jim was born the fourth child of six on Feb. 10 to Betty and Clayton Johnson. At two months of age he was diagnosed with spinal meningitis and was not expected to survive. Against all medical odds, Jimmy not only survived but thrived. Jim had a magnetic personality that drew people of all ages to be his friend. He brought joy to all he met.

Jim is survived by three sisters, Lynne (Florida), Denise (Steve) Cross (Grand Rapids), Julie Yarch, (Grand Rapids) and two brothers, Steve and Craig (Florida).

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held beginning with visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m at McWilliams Funeral Home-Alpena. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church, All Saints Parish at 201 S. Ninth Avenue, Alpena, MI 49707.
