WILLIAM D. DAOUST

William D. Daoust, Jr., “Bill” 84, of Herron, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017 at Tendercare Alpena.

Bill was born July 4, 1933 in Alpena to William D. Daoust, Sr., and Isabell (Minton) Daoust-Guy. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1952 and joined the US Air Force serving from 1952 to 1956. In May of 1958 he married Blanche Kapala until 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and dancing. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Herron, the German Club and was elected King of Dancing in 2013. He had his own well drilling business and after retiring he worked for the DNR Fisheries for 17 years.

Surviving are six children Bill (Judy) Daoust of Alpena, Laurie Stahls of Florida, David Daoust of Colorado, Cindy (Kevin) Amstutz of Virginia, Wayne Daoust of Alpena, Chris (Carrie) Daoust of Gaylord; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister Gwyn (Henry) Bruske of Ossineke; three brothers Thomas (Faye) of Nebraska, Charles (Emely) of Alpena and Michael (Cheryl) of Battle Creek, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Melody A. Daoust; a sister, Gloria Wheelington; and two brothers Arthur “Jimmy” and Daniel.

Bill Daoust is at McWilliams Funeral Home-Alpena where friends may call on Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 from 2-6 p.m. Cremation will follow with inurnment and graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Fr.
