LLOYD J. BURNS

Lloyd J. Burns, 83, of Linden, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home in Linden.

Lloyd was born May 18, 1932, in Alpena, the son of Joseph and Irene (Rouleau) Burns. He married Carol Alvene Bey on Sept. 30, 1950, in Herron and she preceded him in death June 28, 2007. He had resided in Linden since 1996 coming from Florida/Alpena. Lloyd retired in 1984 from National Gypsum after 31 years of service. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Linden.

Surviving are six children, Michael Burns and fiancee Marilyn Block of Iowa, William and wife Margie Burns of Ohio, Cheryl and husband Ronald Wintland of Linden, Karen and husband Charles Budnick of Alpena, Steven and wife Rosanne Burns of Linden, and Phillip Burns of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild; siblings, Precellia MacKenzie of Alpena, Phyllis Kenyon of Hillman, Evelyn Alexander of Alpena, Carol and husband Terry LaCross of Alpena, Gordon and wife Judy Burns of Ossineke, and Donald and wife Mary Burns of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Burns was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Burns; daughter-in-law, Donna Burns and two brothers, Ernest and Joseph Burns.

Mr. Burns is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Joseph Llewellyn officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
