ALPENA — Alpena Community College had the highest graduation rate of all Michigan community colleges, according to the 2022 Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System Data Feedback Report

ACC also ranks at the top of enrollment increases for the upcoming spring semester, data shows.

According to a press release from the college, ACC had a graduation rate of 42% which claimed the top spot over Glen Oaks Community College, which had a graduation rate of 40%.

Wayne County Community College District had the lowest graduation rate, with 10% of students graduating.

ACC President Don MacMaster reported the accomplishments at the ACC Board of Trustees meeting last week.

According to the release, ACC’s spring semester enrollment was up 12.35% in headcount, first among Michigan community colleges by a wide margin. Credit hours also increased by 7.55%.

On Jan. 17, enrollment was up the campus in Alpena, ACC’s Oscoda campus, at other sites, and for online and remote courses. Dual enrollment increased substantially as well.

Only two days later, ACC’s increase in headcount had risen to 13.95% and credits had increased to 8.69% — both of which were first among Michigan community colleges as reported by the Michigan Community College Student Services Association enrollment report.

McMaster said it was the people who work hard at the school and the students that made the achievements possible and all are proud of what is being accomplished.

“These metrics matter to our students, staff, and the communities we serve,” MacMaster said. “They represent a shared focus on student success and professional persistence toward the goal of delivering quality postsecondary education that transforms lives. I couldn’t be prouder of the ACC team.”
