A 55-year-old Onaway woman died on Thursday after she lost control of her vehicle on icy roads on M-33 near Stoney Creek Road in Cheboygan County.

In a press release today, the Cheboygan County Sheriff Office said that Cyndie Ellenberger died in the crash after she lost control of her vehicle on icy roads, crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic, and collided with another vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle involved suffered minor injuries.

The press release said Ellenberger was pronounced dead at the scene and the wreck remains under investigation, but alcohol was not involved in the crash.
