High-speed chase, crash in Rogers City injures one
ROGERS CITY — A high-speed chase in Rogers City injured a driver and left a house without a front porch on Sunday evening.
Police did not share the name of the driver they say sped away when a Rogers City Police officer, responding to a report of a reckless driver, tried to conduct a traffic stop around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The driver drove at a “very high rate of speed” southwest on West Orchard Street and onto Seventh Street in Rogers City before losing control at the Seventh Street curve.
The vehicle left the road and crashed into a house. Though at least one person was inside the house at the time, nobody inside was hurt, police said.
The driver was transported to MyMichigan Medical Center Alpena for treatment of injuries resulting from the crash.
