PHOTO GALLERY: Alpena High hockey team opens 2021-22 season

Under new coach Ben Henry, the Wildcats were defeated in their season opener, 5-3. Alpena fell behind 3-0 after period and didn’t register a shot on goal in the opening stanza. The Wildcats rallied for three goals on eight shots in the middle frame and tied the game 3-3 after two periods after goals from Marceau (power-play), Garrett Hamp and Matt Thompson (power-play). The Griffins scored twice more in the third period to win the game.
